Tax-return information is subject to special federal protections.
Domino will not knowingly or recklessly use or disclose tax-return information for an unauthorized purpose. We use and disclose tax-return information only:
- To prepare or assist in preparing a tax return;
- To provide services reasonably connected with an authorized engagement;
- As permitted by Treasury regulations;
- As required by law, court order, or lawful government process; or

A general website consent, acceptance of website terms, or agreement to this Privacy Policy is not intended to replace a consent required under Internal Revenue Code § 7216 or its regulations. When a separate consent is legally required, it will be presented independently and will describe the specific proposed use or disclosure. Section 7216 generally restricts a tax-return preparer from using or disclosing tax-return information for unauthorized purposes, subject to regulatory exceptions and properly obtained consent.
5. Financial privacy
As a tax and accounting services provider, Domino may be treated as a financial institution under federal privacy and security rules.
We may collect nonpublic personal information from:

- Tax and financial records supplied by clients;

- As needed to provide services requested or authorized by the client;
- To service providers acting on our behalf and subject to appropriate confidentiality or security obligations;
- As permitted or required by law; or
- With the client’s legally effective authorization.
The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act Privacy Rule generally requires covered financial institutions to give customers a clear privacy notice describing how nonpublic personal information is collected, disclosed, and protected. Initial or other required notices must be delivered in the manner and at the time required by law; posting this page alone may not satisfy every client-delivery obligation.

We may disclose information at your direction or with your legally valid authorization.
7. Sale of personal information and targeted advertising
Domino does not sell tax-return information or nonpublic personal financial information.

Our website may use cookies and similar technology for:
- Essential website operation;
- Security and fraud prevention;
- Remembering privacy choices;
- Form functionality;
- Website performance;
- Analytics; and

Further information is provided in our Cookie Policy.
Where applicable, visitors may reject or manage nonessential cookies through the cookie-preference tool. We will also respond to legally recognized opt-out preference signals where required.
9. Data security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, destruction, disclosure, or misuse.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.
The FTC Safeguards Rule requires covered tax-preparation firms to maintain a written information-security program with protections appropriate to the firm’s size, activities, and customer information. Maryland law also requires reasonable security practices and appropriate service-provider protections for covered personal information.
10. Record retention and secure disposal
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- Complete an engagement;
- Maintain accurate business and professional records;
- Comply with tax, accounting, legal, regulatory, insurance, and professional obligations;
- Resolve disputes;
- Enforce agreements;
- Detect fraud and security incidents; and
- Establish or defend legal claims.
Retention periods may vary according to the type of information, service, legal requirement, engagement terms, and applicable limitation period.
When information is no longer required, we take reasonable measures to delete, destroy, anonymize, or otherwise dispose of it securely. Maryland law requires businesses destroying records containing covered personal information to take reasonable steps against unauthorized access or use.
11. Maryland and other privacy rights
Where applicable law grants you privacy rights, you may request to:
- Confirm whether we process your personal information;
- Access personal information held about you;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Request deletion, subject to legal and professional retention requirements;
- Obtain a portable copy of eligible information;
- Receive information about categories of third parties to which information was disclosed;
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- Opt out of a sale of personal information;
- Opt out of targeted advertising;
- Opt out of qualifying automated profiling; and
- Appeal a decision concerning a privacy request.
MODPA grants eligible Maryland consumers rights concerning access, correction, deletion, portability, third-party disclosure categories, and specified opt-outs. Covered controllers generally must respond within 45 days and maintain an appeal process, with an appeal response generally due within 60 days. Those requirements apply only where Domino and the relevant processing are within the law’s scope and not exempt.

Where legally required, we will notify affected individuals, the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, the Federal Trade Commission, law enforcement, regulatory authorities, or other parties.
Maryland generally requires qualifying consumer breach notification as soon as reasonably practicable and no later than 45 days after discovery, subject to the statute’s investigation, misuse, and law-enforcement provisions. Notice to the Maryland Attorney General must precede notice to affected consumers.
15. Third-party websites
Our website may contain links to government agencies, software providers, payment services, social-media platforms, or other third-party websites.
We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy, security, content, or accessibility practices of third parties. Review the policies of a third-party service before providing information to it.
